Morning all,
Can't post from my blackberry at the moment, so have asked Paul to put this on instead.
Firstly, anyone who came this week, got the right week!! It stopped snowing last night, started again this morning and heavier than yesterday (albeit still quite light) - last week, I was skiing with just a jumper - what a change, but a brilliant one at that!!
Cannons have also been on the rila and yastrebets, so on those slopes there is both man-made and real snow. There are still quite a lot of bushes visible - ie: between marky 1 and 2 but slowly, slowly, things are picking up and the resort now looks like a ski resort!!
Moving on:
Rila slopes skiing 'very well' but 2 blacks are still closed as they need more coverage. Sitnyakovo blue is skiing very well, has been pisted but today's snow is adding to it.
Markudjik 1 and 2 are excellent, but very powdery (good newsd!!), but 2b (black) and 3 are still shut.
Yastrebets 1,2,3 are all open - have been pisted but a bit bumpy at top due to snow cannons on this morning / last night, combined with fresh snow.
Harima (from gondola down) is still open and the few grassy / rocky patches have disappeared for the momennt, although coverage is still quite light. Fon fon is still closed (you can see the grass sticking through from the chairlift) but people have already skiied it this morning.
Mussala pathway is closed BUT it has been skied this morning and has a few rocks at the bottom (top is very good). One of the operators is skiing it at 3 for us to see if it's possible to do the lock-in or not as coverage may changer after all the snow today.
Kas
P.s if anyone coming out wants to do the lock-in, we are limiting it to 3 alcoholic drinks per person...sorry!!!

re: BORO CONDITIONS UPDATE - 25th JAN
That's a good rule re. three drinks max for the lock-in Kas... Sensible. Thanks for the update today - feeling very positive about coming out on 13th.
Looking forward to a lock-in that week, and a ski down Mussala to get ready for night time shenanigans!
Hurry up 13th! I'm hooked to the forum and the webcams!

Denis, don't get too hung up on what the website states is open or not. Things can change very quickly also a lot will depend on who you are skiing with and your ability etc. I was taken on 4 'closed' runs last season, they were closed but not due to lack of snow, they just hadn't had the bashers on and we had beautiful virgin powder all to ourselves
yess!
by the sounds of the slopes they are closed because there are still bits of grass and also rocks showing but i dont like to be negative.
the amount of snow boro has had and is due to come there will be plenty of good snow out there.
Aww Kas,,,,,
Well ok then.........
Health a safety has hit Bulgaria? or just common sense!!!
Both most probably but sensible i suppose and my age we are supposed to be sensible!!!
