Quick update....started snowing around midnight last night and is still snowing now both in the resort and up the top. Up the top is slightly finer snow, again due to it being so cold up there but at least there is constant snow!
Bobby has been in Borovets all morning and said the skies are totally white (as they are here in Samakov) and at the moment there doesn't seem any sign of it stopping. Cannons are on and piste bashers are out again.
Thanks for this info. We're coming out on 26/12/2010 (if the airports in the UK aren't closed due to snow!). I've been desparately checking all the websites for the latest info, and most of the web cams show either images from last march, or grassy slopes! Lets hope the snow keeps falling in Borovets! Cheers once again, Jim.

re: BOROVETS - 13TH DEC
Hi Kas and Bobby,
Thanks for the great news, please keep snow, just four weeks on Saturday to go.
Look forward to seeing the bar, wish I had not booked ski school with holiday company, but hay ho! will do it differently next year.
Thanks for your updates, they have been really appreciated. I know you have said that there has been snow, but does it look like there will be enough to ski on by saturday for the opening weekend.
There has been an extra 8inches up top through the night / this morning, but the snow is very fine, soft snow, which means when it compacts down, it still doesn't amount to much... If it carries on like this you should be fine. Also, the Rila & Yastrebets slopes should be ok as they have the snow cannons operating providing additional snow to the 'real' stuff! Will keep you posted!
Tom - can't wait to meet you guys for a beer and will try and keep as much snow as possible!!
You guys seem to be the most up-to-date on this forum, and very helpful too!
I need a little advice regarding the best place to buy/exchange for local currency in Borovets? I (+ family) are staying at the Rlia Hotel from the 19th. But I am trying to figure out whether it is best to exchange for Levs in Borovets or in London?
Don't change in UK - you will ALWAYS get a better rate in BG regardless. Then when in Boro either use the cash points (there are 6 now) or one of the banks. Do not use one of the exchange booths in the streets- we always tell people this, but they use the booths and then get upset when they find the rate they got was not the same as advertised on the outside....! Banks & cash-points are absolutely fine! If you need anything at the aiprort, then just use euros.
