Hi All,
Lots of rumours but we can defo confirm snow cannons are currently being installed on Markudjik 1 and the nursery slope at the top of the gondola. Apparently they are the 'smaller static' type cannons - sorry didn't really understand what Bobby meant, but there are definitely cannons which should be ready for the winter season meaning the top - (even if only the 2 slopes) should be open from the start of the season.
We also now know why the owner of the White House keeps ...

We also now know why the owner of the White House keeps increasing the rent and delaying!! However even if we don't end up managing to rent it, it's much better news for the resort / tourists in general that there will be some cannons up there!
We will let you know about the WH when we know but if not, I may try and work in Bobby's bar all day and not just from 4pm! Or get a job with the new owners of the WH as long as they let us keep the same prices and give free rakia!!
Hopefully now bookings will pick up a bit (pre-season bookings are very quiet in general) as there will be guaranteed skiing on Rila, Yastrebets and at the top due to cannons.

Great news re cannons. Hope you get something worked out re WH - it was one of our highlights back in March.

Reference the white house I hope they realise that without the work you and bobby do on this board and other stuff is the reason for its success . If your not up there it looks like we will have to have dinner down at the bottom. The only reason we stared having dinner at the top was because the food and prices were both good.dbut

Thanks both - in terms of the WH, yeh it would be good to run it again but in our opinion the changes / extra cannons etc this season are more important and should help with longevity of the resort as a whole which will help all the locals, businesses and holiday-makers alike. Anyway, ref: snow....there is currently 60cm of snow at the top, which is from the previous snowfall a couple of weeks ago. They purposely didn't flatten it down (despite people moaning it would blow away!) as they new temps would rise, then fall again and as such there is now a thin / crunchy ice base on top of the 60cm which is preventing it from disappearing and will act as a base for the artificial snow which will come from the new cannons!
All in all good news for Borovets and visitors for this seasom!

Hope the White House deal comes off, if not its there loss as lots of posters will search you out.
Start laying down rakia, bound to be a vintage year with all them tomateos!!!

kas, are they still doing the cannons from the top of the gondola to the top of the yasterbrets chairlift too.

Hi B&K,all looking good this season,really hope you get the white house again,but if not its probably safer for me as the rakia made me think I was Eddie the Eagle

Its going to be a long week at the end of Feb, sking all day and drinking the rest of the time, well! and whilst sking with the hip flaskBoon is that a cup of coffee in your picture or a hot toddy because by the sounds of it Jon is going to have trouble keeping up with your drinking from what we have read on here
