Hi ALL,
Apologies that you are getting this at the end of the ski day and not the beginning, but better late than never!!
At the top of the mountain today, it was very misty and very very cold but due to that not many people ventured up the gondola side which was a shame BECAUSE..everything was pisted and there was also 20 cm of fresh snow. Yastrebets 1 down to the 4 man chair and then Popangelov and Yastrebets 3 were the best conditions since the beginning of the season and gave ...

Yastrebets 1 down to the 4 man chair and then Popangelov and Yastrebets 3 were the best conditions since the beginning of the season and gave perfect skiing. Markudjik was also excellent.
Rila side - was pretty much the same however much busier because as above, not many people ventured up to the top.
A few runs are still closed BUT, the best news is it is still SNOWING & cannnons are on, so...keep dancing!

p.s I will try and get the report done earlier tomorrow so you can use it to base your days's skiing plan!

Is Yastrebets 1 open yet, as the website is still showing closed, also is the run back from the 4 man to the gondola open yet as it isn't technically classed as a named run on the website.Thanks so much for the update

Hi Dean,Yastrebets 1 is open until the 4 man chair but not to the very bottom. The link shortcut that you are talking about across to the midway station is also open.

I meant the one back to the village... but looking at the map looks like it's part of yastrebets 1 so that would answer my question, so still at the moment a shuttle bus is need to get back to the resort as i thought that section was covered with snow cannons now this year. Thanks, i really do look forward to hearing your accurate reports

Hi Dean,Sorry, I wrote that totally incorrectly.... From the 4 man to the halfway, Yastrebets 1 is closed....but if you go down Popangelov or Yastrebets 3 and link across the the bottom part of Yastrebets 1, then that is open as the bottom of yastrebets 1 is covered with snow cannons - so, yes you can ski all the way to the bottom. Sorry, been a long day!!

Hi Dean,
You can ski back from the bottom of the Yastrebets chair to the bottom gondola station and do not need to use the bus.
There are a lot of cannons working on this slope which is the lower end of Yastrebets 1.
There is talk of cannons being put on the whole slope next year.
It will be great when it happens.
I like Yastrebets 1 when you can ski all the way from the top of the gondola.
There is a video made by Xristo from White Magic doing this run down Yastrebets 1, it did not ...

Hi Gerry,I did clarify this after I had written it - it has been another 24 hours without sleep. My usual daily reports direct from the Mountain Rescue will be spot on tomorrow....
