Hi Guys

Sorry I couldn't post before but forgot to take my blackberry with me. The gonolda isn't working for general use, but we managed to go up top at 8am this morning and just got back home now.

It is -18degrees at the top and still snowing - there has been 30cm over night / this morning and the piste bashers were out when we left compacting all the snow on the Markudjik slopes.

Lower down it is snowing more heavily as it's only -9degrees in the resort, so the snow is bigger. All the snow (bottom and top) is settling.

We took the webcam up to the top with us to set up, but Borosport haven't switched the electricity on in the restaurant yet, so although everything is ready to go, we won't be able to get the cams running for you until sometime in the week.

Forgot to say - the guy in charge of all the lift operators for Borosport this year is an absolute star and very very helpful! When we went today, he said as the lifts weren't working, he would start it to let us go up, but we'd have to walk back via the Mussala path.....we agreed (not knowing how cold it was) but then he saw Bobbo (Bobby's 8 year old) and said he would run the lift at 12 to get us back again to save Bobbo walking - dunno about Bobbo, it would have killed me doing 10km at -18degrees....!! Anyway, he also said that this year, they expect to have the cannons working constantly (subject to temperatures) as they now are able to use the water from the new reservoir. We were told that before by one of the workers, but it was good to hear it from the main guy as he's really positive and will do anything to help.

Will keep you posted and if it carries on like it is now, there will defo be snow. As I said before, up top is smaller snowflakes simply due to the cold, but it is still constant. The boss-guy said they were getting it all compacted today (the workers should have had the day off) as they didn't want to make the mistake of last year when they didn't compact it in time and it all blew away - so again, very positive.

In terms of head-torches, we have got 20 of them, so you'll be fine...!! Will be great skiing down around 6.30 / 7 when the slopes are totally clear!
