Just got back from a great week in Pamporovo! It was a bit quiet but the snow was pretty decent and everyone there was really nice.
The staff at Hotel Prespa were extremely helpful and polite, although the food left a little to be desired!
Just unpacked and I appear to have bought a load of bells which I didn't want!
Anyone know where you can get kamenitza in the UK?!!
I think everyone comes back with loads of bells, if they are the small ones make quiet nice xmas tree decs just an idea of something to do with them rather than throw them in the draw, we always bring back something we can make a tree decoration out of then when you put the tree up you remeber all the good times over the past years. great to hear you had a good time and sorry never seen kamenitza in the uk
Pleased to hear you had a good time in Pamps - I was here last year and had a swell skifest - loved it!
If you are really serious about kamenitza - you can buy mail order on the following link

Simon I am guessing it will be much the same as the other Hotel food in Bg. Basic luke warm but filling. It will never win any awards but it is ok. If you are worried there are some great places to eat out in Pamps where the food is much much better than hotel food. ry the Whitehouse and the BBQ at the Murgavets. Also the White Hart pub in the centre has some decent grub.
Simon,
Hotel Prespa is great, I fully recommend it! Ok so the food isn't the best but it's a bulgarian thing rather than a Prespa thing... As Daniel says most the food in Bulgaria is luke warm, but it is edible. Dinner is a buffet so there's always plenty to choose from. Breakfast is probably best sticking to toast! The staff at Prespa were really friendly, can't fault them, and the location is ideal in the resort.

If you haven't been to Pamps before it's brilliant for beginners and novices, but struggles a bit to satisfy the more advanced skier!
I wish all of the people who dislike the hotel food ( I did ) would go out of the hotel and sample the fantastic food on offer in the resort restaurants. It won't break the bank either. If you haven't eaten out I guarantee that you will be pleasantly surprised. If not I'll foot the bill
my advise is go bed and breakfast or self catering, the food in the resturants is excellent and as for it being luke warm thats rubbish all the food we had was hot! eat out and you will have a different view of the food.
