Back from Pamps on the 2nd Feb

Just back on Monday from Pamps.

Snow was great at the top, good at mid station and a bit sketchy at the bottom but most runs were open - including the amazing Stoikite runs. What can I say fantastic, they have upped the quality of the resort with these and what's more when there's good snow they'll be some off piste. You could ride / ski most of the 2 Stoikite pistes until you get the bottom 200m which was dire, but the rest of these runs was brill.

You could ride / ski most of the 2 Stoikite pistes until you get the bottom 200m which was dire, but the rest of these runs was brill.

Snow cannons were on most of the time and they seemed to at least be trying to groom the pistes, although in places there was still work to be done.

Tried Rossignol Restaurant on the corner of the green run and the wall at Studenets - priced as it should be 3 levs a pint, Pizza 8 lev, Kaverma 8 lev; good service too. Everyone should try this bar and volley those that charge 16 levs for a pizza and 5 levs for a pint. Send a message, vote with your feet. Booze

Is it just me or was the customer service much better than just a few weeks ago? Also the mood of the resort is tangibly more friendly. Loved the vibe a felt a tad proud that my mates having visited Pamps for the first time came away saying how friendly and unique the resort was. One of the lads who's skied in Tignes, Cham etc described it as a hidden gem.

Lifts - no queues whatsoever, well possibly 5 minutes on Sunday at the Malina but that's it - tops.

Big thanks to the snow shack chaps and chapesses - made my mates feel right at home. Also serviced my Custom x for £25 and it rode like new - bob on job. Ta very much like to Moey for teaching my muckers to board, and a big hello to the lovely Helen; great to meet you at last.

Also good to see Joff and mates - let's forget the Poma incident Wink

Sorry we didn't catch up Powderseeking Phil, although knowing Pamporovo we probably did under our real names - who knows Wink

Here's hoping there's a dump soon for you lot heading out soon.

Have to agree the new runs are toptastic and i would go as far as to compare them to New Hampshire or Vermont in the states - with lots of snow these will become the best runs on the mountain!!

Still not getting why people say the place is expensive!!! If you seek you will find the places that are genuine! Golden eagle at the top for me is good on the mountain and Smolyan for apartment supplies Surprised

Rained all day yesterday from the Castle down - but sounds like it was snowing at the top!! Smile Very Happy

now going off to seek the white stuff and will keep you peeps updated!

Cheers FN - hope we catch up next time!!
