Hi guys
Just back from a weeks holiday in Borovets staying at the Rila. Had a fantastic time, ski instructor Krassi was superb and very funny, plus the hotel was just fine.
My only bad experience of te entire holiday was my run-ins with the Balkan holiday reps. My brother was unfortunate enough like several on my flight, to have his suitcase go missing for 2 days. It eventually turned up (after going via prague!!) so all good in the end.
However, when we approached the Balkan Hoiday ...

However, when we approached the Balkan Hoiday reps - not sure of their names although one was a long haired blonde girl and the other an over weight Irish guy -they were the most unpolite, unhelpful people i have ever met. They gave us one word answers, they could't offer any advice on where my brother could get ski clothing for the 2 days he was without his luggage plus they only seemed happy to take the time to talk to you if you were handing money over for one of their excursions.
My brother and I felt so agrieved with the Balkan Reps that we are not going to book with Balkan Holidays next year but instead use Neilsons - as it was their reps who approached us at the Rila hotel and sorted us out with temporary ski gear for my brother.
Also many thanks to Krassi our instructor who made our holiday just superb. I hope no one else has a similar experience with the Balkan Reps like we did.

How unfortunate! I have only ever travelled to bg with balkan, so have nowt to compare the service with, but have always found the representatives to be very helpful and personable.re: Balkan Reps
Well we thought they provided a great service escpiall polette (I think her name) we had a very informative welcome meeting with free drink, great choice of excursions and helpful serviceWoulc definaltey book with them again much better than Thomson & Crystal who have always given us the impression we are ruining their holiday

problem is you dont know how good a rep is until you have a problem a bit like insurance great until you make a claim. I personally never had a problem with the balken reps but then i never had a problem for them to sort out, must admite the Neilsons reps are very good got help from them last year even though we had book indepedently, if they are happy to help when your not paying towards there wages should be when you are.re: Balkan Reps
We also arrived back from the Rila on Saturday after our second time at the hotel with Balkan Hols. We too were disappointed with the Rep as we were very unfortunate to have a digital camera stolen from our suitcase in the room. When we approached the Rep (Milena with blonde hair) she didn't offer much assistance and made us feel that we were wasting her time, shrugging her shoulders about everything.
