Balkan airlines

Now using ex Air Canada Airbus 320's. Has anyone had a bad/good experience using that carrier. Believe food not too good and sometime bad delays.

Delays are very rarely the fault of the airline - but more so air traffic control.Balkan are as good as anyone, and for a flight of little more than 3 hours, does it really matter if the food is not Nouvo-Cuisine

Hi,we travelled with Balkan last week. Both the inward and outward flights arrived 1/2 an hour early. The plane was clean, the staff polite but the food was basic although not all airlines provide food these day anyway. I would certainly use them again.

Food is usually a cheese or meat roll, small salad and cake.Advantage of Balkan airlines is that they get priority at Sophia Airport if there's any problems with weather etc.

Balkan now only provide the cheese or ham roll (no cake now) so if you want more do take it with you.re: Balkan airlines
We first travelled with Balkan in 1990. Back then the planes were basic to say the least. The seat in front of us wasn't attached to the floor properly and there were a number of inner panels hanging loose. The in flight meal was a hard bread roll, a slice of meat (unidentified) and one HUGE tomato. The stewardesses made regular trips to the flight deck with trays of glasses containing what looked suspiciously like vodka.

been the last four years with Balkan never had any problems flying from Manchester, as people have said the food is basic but beer ok
