Kids are asking what it is on the evening flight from Newcastle! Anyone care to advise! (i would expect it to be ham/cheese & bun etc!) Flight is 17.50 hours Sunday.
Anyone available to tell them!
been with balkans last two years and the food and coffee not the best as you said Ian bread ham and cheese is about right.only a small moan knowing you have a great week to enjoy the fab BG
thats right Mark, I will eat the kids and get them a sandwich to take on the plane! At these flight times, im hoping they will fall asleep for a while, and on the transfer to Boro, arriving early morning, ready for skiing Monday morning. However, kids being kids the meals seem important for some reason!
If your kids are fussy, get some 'meal deals' from Boots in airport. Balkan meal very basic - bread roll, cheese, etc, but hey - better than they used to be! First time we went was 1991. In flight meal was massive slice of bread, cheese, a slice of very odd-looking meat and one SERIOUSLY huge tomato. Our youngest was just five then - he just ate the cheese!
I would take supplies if you are taking kids, we had the rolls flight meal last year followed by the same as a packed supper ( with mouldy oranges!) However the pancakes on the slopes more than made up for that but the hunger rumblings had to continue until the next day. OK with older teen girls prob not with growing teen boys or younger children!
Hey you forgot to mention the shredded cabbage!
Last yr we were near the back of the plane & could see the meal trays being handed out & all we could hear from the recipients were groans & cries of "I'm not eating that Mum!" - It really is quite amusing though & part of the charm.
Ian i am a bit concerned now to hear you are going to eat the kids the food isnt as bad as that, sounds like that movie with the rugby team that crashed in the mountains and stayed alive by eating there x team mates. any way have fun
Meals seem to have changed somewhat this year! They now give a HOT meal.. yes thats right.. HOT!!! Ok, so, its an unidentifiable dry chicken (I think) thing, with burnt formally frozen mixed veg! There is some salad as well (2 slices of cucumber and tomato) and a roll with butter (Tastes a lil like stilton!)
