Balkan are ok - pretty basic, but hey, they get you there! Their punctuality record isn't good - past two years we've been delayed on all four journeys. Food isn't too bad - vegetarian option is ok, but you have to prebook it. In flight service isn't great and there's no in-flight entertainment. We first travelled with them in 1991 and, believe me, they've improved 200% since then!

At least they have now got the loos inside, the string luggage racks have been upgraded, and the business of smoking on the left of the plane and non smoking on the right has stopped.

we flew with balkan last week. they changed the flights a few weeks before we left, but then flights there and back where on time, transfers were fine, generally no complaints, except we found it a bit tricky to get hold of he rep..so missed the bulgarian night. Otherwise all the ski lift pass tokens and ski storage, which we added later were all there waiting for us on arrival. No frills, but seemd reliable. Have a good one!!!
