I'm coming out to Bankso on the 26th of January. When/Where would be the best time/place to get my lift pass and equipment sorted out. I've had a look on the BanskoBlog site which seems to advertise Skimania? Are these guys ok?
we have used skimania the last couple of years and I can't recommend them enough real friendly set up and this year they have sorted the ski passes as well which will save us airing for them daily
We use Ski Mania each year through bansko blog and can't fault them, very friendly, nothing too much trouble and when I get the odd lesson the instructors are brilliant. They also let me leave my own ski's in there free of charge as the girlfriend hires hers through them.
Used Ski Mania (through BanskoBlog) last year and found them to be excellent. Didn't book passes through them (just bought them at the gondola) - The price seems similar for the passes although you might save some queuing time at the lift pass kiosk if its busy.... That said though the kiosks are supposed to be open into the evening selling passes for the following day(s).
I've also used Explore Bansko for hire in the past - again very good although the shop is a bit ...
Hi again Stuart,
Used Ski Mania (through BanskoBlog) last year and found them to be excellent. Didn't book passes through them (just bought them at the gondola) - The price seems similar for the passes although you might save some queuing time at the lift pass kiosk if its busy.... That said though the kiosks are supposed to be open into the evening selling passes for the following day(s).
I've also used Explore Bansko for hire in the past - again very good although the shop is a bit further away. They will come and get you for fitting etc, but if you wanted to store the gear each night it's not ideal unless you are staying near their shop...
Hope this helps. There are plenty of good suppliers out there...
We use PirinSnow every year for ski hire, as they are located dircetly opposite the gondola, they really do look after you there also as an added bonus Misho always has some of his dads rakia to get you warmed up .
We tend to use M&G Snow School just a few doors down for the ski instructors ( Genadi ), as there are normally around 7 families and they always come up trumps.
ive used ski mania and Bansko sports, both are excellent. I would not go to Ullen , unless you want a full package, the main reason is because they do not open until the ggondola does, so you end up at the back of the queue, the others all open earlier.however if you have an Ullen instructor, you can go up with him
Pirin snow for me too! Misho is great and so are his staff, my mates rent their stuff there and i leave my board there for free, my own binding broke last year at the very top of the mountain, had to get the gondola right down to the bottom, took it into the shop and they fixed it and waxed it free of charge!! was back on the mountain in 30 mins
We use Pirinsnow for our guests and as said fantastic and right opposite gondola entrance. Misho and his gang are very friendly and customer service is fantastic. We also use the gondola for packages if people want to join groups for lessons. Not had any bad experiences from them either.
Skimania are great too and most of the little shops all work with each other and help each other out unlike Ulen who try to stop this.
