Just got back from a great weeks skiing in Bansko with plenty of snow, the town is a bit of a building site, but I would certainly go again.
The local eating houses are very good and very cheap and the portions are massive, beer ranged in price from 6 Lev (£2) up the mountain to 1.20 Lev (45p) in the town depending where you drank. For example a meal for two with a couple of beers I never payed more that 50 Lev.
I felt that I got value for money, I did hear people moaning, but as I said to ...

I felt that I got value for money, I did hear people moaning, but as I said to them if you went to the Alps you would pay twice the price and your food and drink would be ten times the prices, you get what you pay for.
Any questions honestly answered.
I was alway at the Gondala for 8.30am to pick up my ski's and boots and there problems I just walked straight up the stairs, people who arrived just after 9am said that it was starting to get busy and there were people tailing back out of the door.
My advice would be to get there early.

gogs, can you give us a quick breakdown of what you got up to at ski school ? (yeah I know you learnt to ski) but which runs did you learn on, did you get to ski from the top of the mountain to the resort ? and how big were the groups ?
I'm an experienced skier but decided to do ski school as I went with my wife who is a learner and I didn't want to ski on my own. Our class skied every run on the mountain that was open including the one black run. My wife was a complete beginner and after a couple of days she was skiing down the mountain on the ski road and also doing some of the blue runs.

Bansko is a good resort for beginners and intermediates, but I would say that some of the runs graded blue are on the tough side for the less experienced skier. Ski classes normally ran from 10am until 3pm each day with about an hours break for lunch.

wen u say u picked up ur skis and boots from the gondola is this wot happens do u leave them there at night and pick up in the morning? if so r they left in lockers and how much does this cost?
We handed our ski's back in each night to the people at the Gondala who we had hired them from. In the mornings you showed them your card with your ski's number on it to get them back. You could do the same with your boots and leave your shoes in there place but during the day anyone could help themselves to your shoes, so we paid 15 Lev for the week to store our boots in the ski/boot store just beside the stairs to the Gondala, the bloke in there was a bit a character and regularly offered ...

you turn up at gondola in ur own shoes every morning...they give u a number for ur boots and skis..which u will remember..you put your own shoes on shelves put on ur ski boots...at end ofday put ski-boots where ur shoes have been ..number allocated on shelf...same with skis tell them number every morning they will give u skis...its an easy routine ...no probs
