re:Bansko .

We have used Steve C for transfers many times - I can assure you the transfers we had pre Steve C were shocking as it 100mph everywhere blind corner overtaking inches from other drivers bumpers seatbelts cut off with the clip out in to stop the noise in the car....

So we had enough and without question Stece C is highly recommended by us all the drivers are either British or fluent in English and none drive dangerously it takes a little longer but I like to arrive in one piece. ...

I've not hired a car but the route is straight forward if you do - fuel is similar to UK prices well about £0.20 per ltr cheaper.

No problem mate...
The actual prices of packages has not been released yet by Ulen (utter madness) but it has already been made quite clear that the price will be fixed by the operator that any private concern can charge (further monopolising of the mountain services). Packages were always good value from the operator anyway, but now all the private hires/instruction will have to charge what Ulen do, not less... (there is a case surely for the monopolies commission to investigate)

We can arrange everything regarding packages, and hand you the passes and vouchers on arrival, up to you :-)
The Lion hotel is good, but a 15min walk to the gondola, they do a courtesy bus as most of the bigger hotels do....

re:Bansko .

We do transfers up the mountain to miss the queues. But Im guessing you may not need at this time if year. Usualy xmas/new year and feb half term. Hotel wise try BRT, Regnum, Eagles nest, dumanov, Emerald, Casa Karina etc etc all pretty neasr to gondola. If you are looking for apartment near to gondola contact me have many around that area I can point you in right direction. Some will have apart hotels so could get in their restuarants or self catering knowing you are really close to ...

re:Bansko .

The drive up the ountaing to the top of the gondola takes about 30m I think... so unlikely a courtesy bus would do it IMO as it would take it out of service for an hour or more.... still as Muffy pointed out - the time of year you are going the queues shouldn't be bad at all....

Can heartily reccomment earlybird for a safe a pleasant transfer - use them every year now. First couple of times I hired a car in Sofia and drove - the cost with Petrol etc is pretty much the same and a load ...

re:Bansko .

The longest queue I've been in at the night of half term was 20mins.

When your going it will most likely be aa handful of mins

I was going to recommend Lucky Bansko as I'm an owner so vested interest and all that - but its a really nice make sure you have a few massages superb. Also the location of the Hotel means your mins 5 walk to the square with loads of places to eat loads more on the side streets.

re:Bansko .

Lucky Bansko is a superb complex, possibly one of the best run in Bansko, but beside the gondola it is not... it sits right at the bottom of town. Not an issue for the gondola as they have a number of free buses (and i mean a number, 5 or 6). As stated, there are a number of local mehanas nearer the bottom of town charging much more realistic prices, and just around the corner from you is the London Pub, English owners, great prices and menus... Very Happy
