Looking back at past postings I am really concerned now about going to Bansko on the 3rd March! I went at half term last year and thought this year it would be a little quieter at the Gondola, but now found out it is a Bulgarian holiday and some reps are suggesting avoiding this week. Oh No!! Is is really that bad !! does any one know
i am going on 3rd too...i DIDNT EVEN know till yesterday taht it was a public holiday, i am really worrying now!!!i dont want to be queing for hours each day to ski!i'lll be gutted!!
I don't know who started this fuss about 3rd of march, but it's nothing that big here in Bulgaria. Yes it is a bank holiday and it is Liberation day but it's just a saturday! We are not getting any extra days off or anything...so stop spoiling your moods and look forward to an awesome vacation!
i asked on the Skidvd forum.... 3rd March is a Bulgarian holiday and Saturday and Sunday may be quite busy but the rest of the week should be as normal so nothing to worry about
Sunday's are usually busy wherever you go as all the locals come out to play!
that could be the case julie, maybe he wanted the slopes to himself hehe! i'm sure it'll be great when we get there anyway, even if it is busy it will add to the atmosphere
get there for the gondola opening, I know it means no lie in but you miss the queues and get on the slopes quicker and longer. People in our ski school who turned up later queued for over an hour some days.
