Is the lift pass system the old card type or is it the new electronic type where you don't need to insert your pass into the machine each time? Do the Swatch ski-pass watches work on the lift system?
Is it cheaper to pre-book the pass in the uk?
You in Bulgaria! what do you think???Old type unfortunately.I went to a few Bars/Restaurants I was told not to flush the loo after I had been as the plumpbing was so bad.Needless to say it was not the freshest of loos.
Dear Rupert, you are way behind. Bansko is applying for the Olympics of 2014.

Dear Rupert, you are way behind. Bansko is applying for the Olympics of 2014.
I'm visiting Bansko 3 years now and every year I see new things going on. I don't know for the rest of Bulgaria but in Bansko the toilets are extremely clean in every place I have been, probably because the English tourists that go there are nice and they are not the same English tourists that unfortunately come in Corfu in Greece bringing all their alcoholic problems, criminality and littering all around the place. So, please have in mind that this country has suffered the isolation and poverty of communism for 45 years and we, in rest of Europe were 50 years ahead. It's unbelievable the effort they are making. We, especially from Northern Greece, will support them with all of our hearts because we would like to see our neighbours growing and I am very happy to see all people from England in this discussion board to suport them, too.
I have seen a lot of English people in Bansko, we ski together and hopefully is what we all name good people.
I am going to Borovets, need to know about the lift pass. do i need a passport photograph? and do they give it to you at the resort as i have prebooked and not received anything yet!
No photo required. new type of pass. Keep it in a poket on your left hand side. Opens barrier as you walk through and Rupert, there is nothing wrong with the tolets in Bansko.
In Borovets in the old style lift pass - no photo required, you get it in resort and you'll need a lift pass holder to clip it onto as you need to put it in the barriers to open them each time
I went to Bansko in Jan this year and I have to say I thought it was amazing. A resort that is really on the up from what I could see. Excellent facilities, new chair lifts and electronic lift pass system. Hotel was much better than most that I have stayed in in the UK. Toilet were spotless everywhere I went! Well done Bansko
