Bansko Report Lord Lewis and Failsworth 34

Well the Failsworth 34 have all returned in one piece with just one pulled muscle between us and i am happy to report that the Strazhite Hotel is also still in tact..
Seven glorious days Ski-ing through Snow/Blizzard conditions no Sunshine but what the hell.
The Sky Bar ( Lion Bar ) opposite the Strazhite took a fearful hammering till 6.30am from two of our bretheren on a regular basis and a decent steak and chips was on offer as a substitute for the usual average hotel food.

The Sky Bar ( Lion Bar ) opposite the Strazhite took a fearful hammering till 6.30am from two of our bretheren on a regular basis and a decent steak and chips was on offer as a substitute for the usual average hotel food.
Bondi bar on the main street on left half way between Strazhite and Gondola proved the lifesaver for the thrifty.
Pint Bottle of Perrini cost 80 stinky donkeys, coffee the same price and Chicken and chips 2.5 Levs ( 90p) just the job.
General resort was fabulous, plenty of Spider Jackets and Goggles available, certainly rip offs but at £60.00 per jacket,a few of our Crew took the plunge. Bags of variety in the local Mehanas and the Main Apres Bar is the Happy End next to Gondola with excellent Live band on Fridays and Saturdays
( Committments etc ) All runs were open including back to Village, a real Thigh burner at the end of a long day.
Red 2 was a favourite run for fans of the deep white stuff and ski-ing the Black 9 on the last day was thrilling.
Usual lack of pisting problems although they did there best under constant snow torrents.
Instructors seemed to be excellent according to reports from the Crew. Mountain Restaurants as usual more expensive than Village but not too bad.
Weekends were busier with Locals arriving on the scene, but did not queue anywhere including Gondola all week.
Nitpicking point, well no Bath in rooms at Strazhite and not being able to spend a Tenner before i fell over.
Will we be going back, you bet your life, waiting for Brochure to arrive.
Loved Pamps last year, preferred Bansko this Year, as for Borovets, bring it on.
Anyone going out in the next few weeks will be delighted with conditions of Piste etc.
Thats it Folks,
Any Questions fire away

I am humbled by such an excellent report My Lord.

As Dizzy says (my Daughter), my wife and her 2 sisters will NOT be happy with the lack of baths! Oh dear!!!! Just as well she never looks on this site - she will be too knackered by the end of the day to notice. Either that, or she will be going back to Dizzy's digs (the Perun) for a soak.

Now I am excited. Just 5 sleeps to go!!!! Yippeeeee!

Yes, Bansko is ok, sadly too many commoners know this now, my lord.
I am off this weekend, timing measured well, I think. Hope even for some sunshine next week.
See you in Bansko, those of you who will be lucky to go there next week.

re: Bansko Report Lord Lewis and Failsworth 34

I was there as I bumped into some of your group in the Lion. I was one of them there until 7.30 on the fridaynight/saturday morning, but had been drinking fairly heavily so unable to remember names. Booze Booze Booze Booze Natalie was the waitress that night, we were planning on going to the nightclub when more people joined the party at about 2.30/3.00. Think that may have been more of your group.

Very HappyCL
