Bansko Runs km?

Bansko claims to have 75km of runs, but when i go on the runs info and add up the lengths ('all branches included') of the downhill runs, and doesn't come anywhere near 75km... does anyone know why?
cheers in advance...

re: Bansko Runs km?

75 km of runs is misleading, there is much more, around 75,000 hectares of skiing, the piste is only a way of getting there Wink

Dunno why they should claim it ? perhaps they are measuring it by traversing each slope in very wide turns...
I can ski the whole area piste wise in a morning, and then ski it again completely differently in the afternoon.. and i'm knackered..
Is it really that important ? you know its only blokes who think size matters.. (yeh, right Mad) quality is the key ...

If you actually want an explanation i'm assuming that there are various combinations of runs that would add up to the total, but it would involve skiing some runs more than once, only a guess, but perhaps the reason Very Happy

re: Bansko Runs km?

i just thought it was the length of each pisted run straight down through the run... how wrong was I then ahaa! It's just decided to go to bansko because it had more runs than boro, as we have already been there, but doesn't matter still try a different resort which was more snow sure with snow cannons (little did we know of this recent snowfall!). cheers Smile

Or it could just be they are lying!!!. Or maybee it was measured by a snowboarder, they have a habit of exaggerating!!!!, thatll start em shouting!!.

re: Bansko Runs km?

and steve if you think about it, how do they measure the length of the run, as pamps and bansko both give details of the length of each run, hmmmm.....

re: Bansko Runs km?

I really don't know mate, all i know is that you can ski/board a run a thousand different ways... I know i'm a bit biased, and i still enjoy skiing Boro, but Bansko is better/different, and perhaps the runs a little harder... i'm sure like me, you will be knackered at the end of each day, 75km or not Very Happy

re: Bansko Runs km?

yeahh can't wait to get out to bansko now on 28th, getting a little too excited Very Happy

and just out of interest i added up the length of each run that pamporovo stated on their website and it added up to 36.46km which they claim to have 37km which would be correct, so confused ahaa!

but yeah hopefully the runs are better in bansko like you said Smile
