Hi,
We are thinking of Bansko for half term 06- Is this ok for near beginners? ie 2 slightly nervous parents + Boy (17) and Girl (14). We have only had 2 wks experience at La Plagne before and 'mum' has bad knee after accident last year!- hence need for some gentler slopes . Thinking of self catering for flexibility but like going out too so would like to be not too far from center. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Can recommend Borovets for families, plenty going on, good Novice & Intermediate slopes and most Hotels near or at the foot of the slopes.
Much more laid back than La Plagne, also cheaper and friendlier!
Plenty of good restaurants/bars etc
Cheap for shopping too.
Fred
Unless you go to somewhere like the Malina or Yagoda Villages in Borovets you won't get self catering. Not easy to self cater there anyway as there just aren't the shops to stock up - we found breakfast a struggle to be honest!
Lifts next half term shouldn't be too bad as they should all be working this year!
I was a beginner with an experienced family - I loved Bansko as it is more like your typical Ski resort.
Boro didn't do it for me but I do have a contact for SC in borovets if you PM me
We are going to Borovets, hotel Samakov. It is our first time and we are a family of 5. 2adults, daughters 16& 15 son 9. Would you recommend booking ski passes, lessons etc before we get there.
Many Thanks
