And some views on that, please? Is it certain that there will be any empty seats at all in the gondola in mid station? Do some people get off there, or does everybody go up to the top, so we "trap" ourselves in the mid station for a long time?
In my experience in Bansko I don't think I have ever seen anyone get off the gondola at the mid station in the morning, so if they fill up every car (which they don't always do) you might struggle but the reality is you'll normally get the odd space in the cars coming up... Other than that you'll be killing some time in Chalin Valog until things quieten....
the queues are still long, over an hour and and it does not help that there have been a few breakdowns, power cuts the other day, I do not? know why today. ?
Even though they have regraded the black piste to a red, its still a black in my eyes... It is possible to bypass both and appear on the red down to Challin Valog by using the path, which has been widened this season, it starts to the right of the top of the black..
Normally you can squeeze in at the mid station, and occasionally you will get people get out, those who know what Challin is like, a dream in the mornings...

The parking on the mountain is limited, so when full, no parking. That said i have only experienced one day when this was the case. Its 10lv a day. There is parking at Shilligarnika, below in the old bus park, the side of Blue 1, and the top of the gondola... There is free parking in Challin Valog if you stay on the road, we normally park up towards the Isverite Hotel, near to the BBQ bar...
Gondola broke down at just after 10am. I'm sure everybody who got up before then had a great time but the gondola did not work again after then. Only way up was by the minibus shuttle which could get maybe 200 people per hour up the mountain. So lots of people stranded at the bottom of the mountain and I'm guessing no skiing for the day.
Things got nasty at times in the gondola station. Lots of angry people. Police in attendance. People getting pulled out ...
Bansko a disaster zone today.

Bansko can't cope with crowds. It has insufficient access to the mountain. Second time I've been here - it was tolerable last time but things are much worse now. Can't recommend. Sorry, spend tour hard earned money in a better resort.
Yep agree with Dazzler1. I would say in 11 years of snowboarding that was the worse day I've had and doubt I'd would come back to Bansko. When I got up there today I saw the non-moving massive queues for the Gondola and queue for the bus and decided to hike to Challin Valog because I was told the lifts were open there. They weren't!
Still saying on the website that all lifts are open when they are obviously not!
