Bansko on the up!!

Looks like more and more people are off to Bansko this season (if the last few days postings are anything to go by!!)

Seems I have made a wise choice for Jan 15th then.... all I know about the place is what I have found online, but cann't bloody wait to get there.

Well I just booked 45 minutes ago, to go to the Hotel Perun in Bansko on 22nd Jan with my 15 year old son. Been to Borovets last 2 years and loved it. Thought we'd give Bansko a go for a change as it seems to offer more variety of runs.
The only minor thing is that the Hotelk Perun is currently only an artists impression in the Balkna Holidays brochure. Hopefully it'll be finished before the season starts!

Hey, you a me both - though not the same hotels!! I'm staying in a chalet that is yet to be completed... Fingers crossed.....

Was in Pamp in Feb this year, but think (as do you) the skiing may be better in Bansko!

atist imp, hiya what is the snow like in jan did ya get much, did you go in jan to borovets, we went last year but in march, and had a couple of good dumps,
but hope it will be ok in jan, i know its not the same every year but here's hopin!!!

Seems your right. Bansko seems to be very popular. I am in Pamps Jan 15th (as you know), thinking maybe Bansko next year. Mind you, only seen about a 5th of Pamps as I was in lessons for most of last years visit.

OK HKP - Make you a deal - @ 11am on the 16th Jan, find the highest point of Pamp (Up the tower no doubt) and face Bansko, take a deep breath and SHOUT LIKE HELL and we can have a chat!!!

Hiya, I was thinking of Bansko for this year but since there is only me and Roy going we will mostly be skiing seperately and I wanted to know where abouts I was without getting lost so we opted for Boro again, at least I know my way round there! Was in boro last 2 Januarys and had loads of snow both times. Going Jan 16th next year staying in Iglika.

Oh and I just bought purple spotted welly boots for playing in the snow....tee hee.

Hi noodles

Stayed in the Hotel Iglika week beginning 17th Jan. Plenty of snow but started to get a bit icy by the Tuesday, then we got 3 foot of snow overnight! Also heavy snow the next night.

Was amazing. I am an ageing boarder who will never forget gliding through snow up to my waist on the black run. Then lean back and you're back near the surface. Unreal.

Stayed in the Iglika the last 2 years. Pleasant hotel situated ideally for the slopes and close to everything.
