Bansko or Borovets??

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice, I've been to Pamporovo for the last 2 years and fancy a change but don't know weather to try Bansko or Borovets.

Any thoughts on which resort would be best for 2 adults and 2 children (all can ski as intermediates) or is it personal choice?

Looking to probably rent a S/C appartment at half term (11th Feb 12)....

I believe Bansko is the 'newer' resort but I've heard stories of very long waits for the Gondola before even getting to the slopes

re: Bansko or Borovets??

Craig, plenty of posts on this forum asking the same question and you'll get the same answers which tends to split the pack. I'm all for Borovets and will be out with my family and friends Feb 1/2 term also. Unless you are up early you will unfortunately see some queues at the Gondola in Borovets but there are taxis and minibuses these days which can take you up to the chairlift on the same slopes or you can ski on the Rila side for a bit until the queues die down

re: Bansko or Borovets??

Have a look at the posts from Kas and Bobby.Their information is always good and the snow reports when they start are always good even if its bad news. They will have a bar there this year called Bobbys where I am sure you will get a lot of the people off this forum meeting up and having some great nights. Have been to Borovets for the last nine years and good or bad conditions have always had a good time.

Forum Meets. Very Happy

Craig, these forum meets can get out of hand especially if in Borovets, hear Bobby is making gallons of homemade Tomatoe Rakia so be careful.
