Hi to all who are reading this posting,

Well were do i start to let all you people who are going to bansko what it is like.

The snow conditions are absolutely surpreb on all runs even snow in the village (as you can see on the web cam).

We stayed in the hotel Strazhite. Swimming pool sauna and steam room. Very clean tidy hotel very friendly people two nice bars table tennis ( 3levs for 1 hour ) and of course the bowling ally (10 levs Per person per game). The food in the hotel was ok good choice go up as many times as you like. All the rooms have Tv's and hairdryers in them. Linen changed daily.

The best bar we found was the Sky Sports Bar which is right outside the hotel strazhite (open 24hrs if you can handle that). The food in this bar is the best in the resort by a mile. Try the Chicken wings for starters then the XL steak with pepper sauce all for 20levs. They have happy hour from 4-6 pm every day 30% off all drinks and a wide range of food. Food is also serverd 24hrs not the whole menu but again very good choice. Bar staff are very friendly.

The shopping in bansko is not the greatest but you can get some bargins if you look hard enough although most of the clothes are reproduction not the real thing although they are good quality.

Its is cheeper to buy your ski pack from a travel agent in england as is about double the price in resort.

Transfer from Plodiv to Bansko was 4 hrs due to road conditions lots of snow on the roads. Balkan airlines not the best but do get you there. Dont expect much from plodiv airport very very basic.

But all in all a very good place for skiing and boarding the lifts are great only 4 drag lifts the rest are chair lifts approx 25 min gondala ride to the ski area then 20 min to the very top.

Hope you all have a great time if you want any more information please email me have lots of photos to share if you like.

Hi Lee

Interesting report. Good to hear about the Sky Sports Bar, my other half is out there at the moment with a couple of mates and advice on where to drink is very welcome. Would they be advised to get a taxi further a field for a more lively nite ? Would be nice to see some pics - get them posted.

re: Bansko ski resort

If they need taxi get them to ask for julian in the Sky bar he will help them out.

Nightlife is not the best but if you enjoy a drink then sky bar is the place.
