To anyone going to Bansko.Beware!! As you get off the plane steps are not even you go down and at one point it flatten's out to about astep and ahalf' not quite true as the rear part of the step is about 2" lower as my wife found out when her knee colapsed and none of the the staff were there to help. Then you get to arrival and all hell breaks lose, now getting late didn't tell you already had about hour and a half delay no reason given, one carousel. Out to coach you think that's it sit around again after the joy of making sure yuor gear is actually on the coach. Bus company rep. get's on coach not Balkon Rep to much to do i guess. Then she say's transfer willbe about 3 hour's then next breath and a half ,next maybe 4 turns with stop more like 4 and a half but when you get there you will get the packed evening meal sandwich cucumber apple and water.Other than that skiing good super hotel Stratzhiteresort quiet at night,but after a week of looking forward to an early start half past five on the coach ready for the now admitted to 4 and a half hour tranfer off you you go with packed breakfast you guessed the same evening meal.Bewarned take anything you need with to the Airport!!! you could be there awhileand not alot there. Depatures hall about 50m x 50m and we were there 7 flight's all waiting ,to go through the door straight in front of the entrance. Needless to say no real communication again with a Balkon rep. 2 girls from other companpies seemed to do all they could to little avail.Again delayed by about 2 hour's. Takeoff you think nothing else can go wrong people had to stop there bag's going to Dublin but only because were getting on the plane because their coach had been in a crash with a lorry noone hurt, they saw thir bags heading the wrong plane.Phew nearthing! On the home run late but getting there back to Eastmid's civilised loads of carousels but another delay but not that bag's are in Dublin no, still on plane cargo hold door stuck. So with 2 difference on clock's leave hotel at 3.30am and arrive home 6.30pm Knacked all in all a great holiday geuss what going back to Austria next time

basically the guy is saying that the advertised transfer times are totally incorrect,no balkan reps where available to discuss any problems with or to report any accidents to either on the transfer coach or in resort.
the hotel was quiet good other than surly staff and extreme short measures in all drinks so prices are NOT as cheap as it seems.
parts of the holiday were ok but the resort is certainly not as good as its publicity deems it to be and as for value of lift passes to compare £80 for 65 km of pisted runs( or most of the time not pisted) to £130 for 250kms of well groomed runs,well i will leave it to you good people to work out which represents the better value!!
i have been followimg this site with interest since we booked to go to bansko and it does appear that if anyone dares to be in the least bit critical of anything to do with bulgaria then they leave themselves open to personal criticism,not everyone enjoys the same but at least admit that all is not perfecct.
also before i am told that bulgaria is not an experience like the rest of europe, i do know that, as this will be my 4th visit, the first time in 1992 to vitosha when things were a lot more basic than now,and two trips to golden sands.all i can say is that the coast resorts do seem to have got the infra-structure and attitudes together so why not do the same for the mountain resort?
i have also spoken to several friends who have all given bulgaria a try this season and with 1 exception all said the same thing,they would sooner pay more and go to france or austria.
no doubt i have left myself open for lots of adverse comments but i do feel at least i have a balanced view

He doesn't evn seem to know which airport he was flying to or which airport he flew to. Too many vodkas on the flight I think this would make airport steps uneven in any country.

Fancy not realising that you had a delay until you reached the carousel.

Then companpies and Knacked no wonder he's going to Oestereich he has left his brain in Plovdive.
