The streams were there when they developed the piste? Could large drain pipes be used just below the surface to carry the water. The ski road has a couple of bridges over the river.

re: Bansko

im just back from a week in Bansko and after reading many reports quite a few bad ones and some good I was alittle aprehensive.

I can safely say though that we loved it, the weather was excellent and nearly everyone we met were very friendly. We had one grumpy bus driver but apart from that all bar/restuarant/PR staff were really friendly and you could tell they wanted to treat you well and give you a good impression of bulgaria.

Price for food and drinks do vary quite a bit depending where you go, it really is one extreme to another but then that is up to you to choose where to eat and drink.

re: Bansko

Just back from Bansko great weeks sking with good snow.

Sadly could be the last time to Bulgaria it takes us 11 -12 hours to get there and the prices are getting too high for the budget ski holiday I am looking for.

Stayed at the Spa Hotel Emerald which is not recommended it has a very poor finish , no proper ski store and unfinished areas.
On transfer 8 of us were crammed into a mini bus with full ski gear no bigger than a transit van to get to the Hotel from the Hotel Lion quite ...

re: Bansko

..... the snow conditions really are not good, rocks showing through, overcrowded pistes, some rain and loads of accidents...not fun!

I was in Bansko last year , first week in March.
1st few days was 45mins to an hr to get on the gondols in the morning. 2 main runs were blocked of due to a world cup race.
Doea anybody know if this race is on this year ? is it the same time every year - as is the Q's as bad at the bottom??
Thank you
