It's not that bad really at the top you can use both sides like a half pipe to control speed then it gets easier. at about half way down it gets steep again and this is where you can ski it from at the moment. As for ice it depends on the weather. It's not always icy.
I gave it go on snowblades a couple of years with the other half, she got frightened as she always did & decided to slide down on her belly untill around 3/4 way down - nice one - didn't do that again with her in toe as the locals pi****ed themselves!!
the tops is pretty intense and could cause you problems but the 2nd half is smooth & steep - wouldn't recommend flat out or you'll not be needing the gondola to get back into town!
I saw a couple going down the blue at the to run Plato on their arses. Their kids had goaded them into it, boy were those kids gonna get it when their parents caught them.
when your stood at the top looking down it looks far worse than it is, it can get icey but its not too bad, 1st time i tried it, i got knocked over by a skier (i board) right at the top, and i slid half way down on my belly as it was steep and icey and i couldnt get an edge to stand up, that was my 1st attempt - done it pleanty of times since so enjoy D
