Does anybody out there take there own boots with them and just hire the ski's? If so, is it worth doing? Have just spent a week in pamps with crippling hire boots, and am off to bansko in a few weeks so would like to get it right this time!.
I stuck with hire boots for 2 seasons and never again! Bought my first pair last year (nowt too flash) - fit me like a ...err... boot.
Got a great deal from a massive sports company called Decathlon - the store I used was in Sheffield - but they are in most major cities in UK and abroad.
There is a lot to be said for getting them in the resort as you can ski on them straight away and then take them back for any adjustment. I got mine in the US whilst on holiday and they are really comfortable. I don't know quality or prices in Bansko though. Going there myself on 26 Feb

I have bought boots - much comfier!! I go the Salomon Sensifit as they are custom moulded to your feet - not over expensive either. They are heated up and then just cool down around your feet. They can be re-moulded up to 5 times I think.
Spot on Hornster - i have just bought myself and my wife a pair of Salomon Pro Performa boots in the sale at the Stockport Decathlon for £59.00 - bargain. Well worth a trip. I think these boots have gone back to £109.00 now but the exact same boot are £200.00 in Ellis Brighams. You can get Nordica or Rossignol ones now for about £60.00 there.
