looking at the forecast from sat, onwards it looks like some snow is due also getting colder, so fingers crossed for this to happen.

Just to update this, I've been told that the Gondola is only open for walkers. Yastrebetz chairlift is on & there's the free shuttle from the Gondola.
Two drag lifts in front of the Rila with long queues (we estimated about 60 people in each queue).
The Sitnyakovo Express (chairlift on the black on the left of the Rila Hotel) is open only for walkers.
It's 15 degrees at the Rila at the moment.
Here are a couple of photo's taken a few minutes ago.

What is the safety like for the ski school? are they running?Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Kas,thanks very much for your reports.
We, a couple from Germany, are coming in February and I beg for snow. But I am very optimistic, it is falling a little later.
At the moment we are drowning in snow and some more 40 cm are expected for the weekend!

Haven't seen so few snow in Borovez since 2003 in November after the autumn snow falls.Sune

Hello All - We are due to travel to Borovets this Saturday. Looking at the snow report lots of lifts are not open !!! Please can somebody who is there tell me roughly how much of the 40kms of Piste is actually skiable (if thats a word;-) Alternately what is the night life like ? I have been hearing horror stories about nothing going on and more worryingly the resort being 90% male. Please can someone give us the real low down. Also we have a complete beginner coming with us. Will any of the ...
