re: Borovets - 1/2 Price ski passes from Monday

Sorry to upset everybody but I'll be there on Monday for a week, being lucky having only just returned from Alpbach (Borovets is soooo much cheaper - so even better news about the 50% discount on lift passes). Austria was good, great snow and very sunny - in fact too hot! Is Borovets really 'that' cold.....?
And do I need a photo for a 6 day lift pass?
Cheers.

Let's put it this way ; and no offense to anybody...If you are a beginner or a mid level skier or snowboarder , who enjoys skiing but it is not a passion and after ski is essential Bulgarian resorts are ok . But frankly , when you look closer and compare prices/quality /service/number of km of slopes/lifts BG is definitely not competitive , especially for those who expect something else than staying in unheated rooms ( Borovetz ) in resorts which look like the Dubai's construction sites ( ...

But frankly , when you look closer and compare prices/quality /service/number of km of slopes/lifts BG is definitely not competitive , especially for those who expect something else than staying in unheated rooms ( Borovetz ) in resorts which look like the Dubai's construction sites ( Bansko ) with so-so and not so cheap food , very few properly prepared slopes ( Borovetz ) ,few functioning lifts ( every Monday main lift closes in Borovetz for some crazy "maintenance" and when they consider that there are not enough people the stop the top lifts in Bansko) extremely poor service on the slope's bars and restorants....Well , yeah the beer is cheap , big deal !

I am from BG and have snowboard everywhere from Argentina ,BC ,Slovenia , all Alps ,US and the conclusion unfortunately is that Bulgaria has huge potential for a mid mountain but because of it's structural and social problems and lack of touristic tradition ( most of the time the tourist is somebody that has to be ripped off but without delivering the quality ) is very overrated and cannot be competitive especially for people who have a long mountain experience .
All comparison , it is no match to any French , Austrian or Italian resort...where now most of the Bulgarians who can afford it spend their ski holidays...
