Hi, Can anyone tell me good places to eat out in Boro? We were there last week but ate in the hotel as we were half board. We are going back in a large group in a couple of weeks and will be eating out but on a budget!!! all we saw when we were there last week was pizza and steak places. are there any other more traditional bulgarian places to eat and has anyone got any ideas of prices that we can expect to pay?
Hi,
Just got back from Borovets as well - didn't have the best "food" expereince, so rather than say anything nasty i thought it'd be better to say nothing at all..!! however, as you dont seem to have had any other posts...
Blue was good, we ate there on the last night, although prices have gone up a little it was a great meal. Came to about 50lv each inc starter, lots of drinks, main course and tips.

Alpina, Englaish management, good traditional home cooking for when you're board with the Bulgarian food (great eggs on toast for breakfast and english Teatley tea!!), very reasonably priced.
Salamander, prices up a little on last year but food good and they have traditional Bulgarian food on the menu as well as burgers etc.
The Bulgarian Kitchen (think it's now just "Steak House", used to be the best place but the prices have soared in there this year (some stuff on menu was 50 lv!) i had a pasta dish but was ill from a meal earlier in the day so didn't eat much - the pasta was 14lv, bottle of wine about 30lv - i.e. VERY expensive
Most of the resturants have a Bulgarian part to their menu so you can get traditional food - the only thing is that the prices have gone up so much since last year
Anyway, i hope this does help a little bit - i'm just quite rubbish at remembering names of places.
People have suggested to me that getting a cab to Samakov and eating out there can be a great (traditional) experience. If you ask in Alpina they can tell you the places to go.
Landed this morning. Have to say that eating out has definitely gone up from 2 years ago. Had a right fiasco going home - bus had broken down so the next one they sent was 45t mins late. Unloaded at terminal 1 but had to get back on bus as we were leaving from terminal2 and no Inghams rep in sight - Inghams you are a disgrace. Was told that I could not be seated with my 2 kids but I held out and eventually we got 3 seats together. On the brighter side, the conditions were perfect, we had a ...

Hi Julie, it was nice to meet you all albeit briefly! Glad you got home safe. We made it back in one piece too, amazing given our previous form!
