has anyone ever bought ski equipment in borovets? Is it cheaper than buying at home? any advice?re: Borovets Ski Shops

I bought a pair of Salomon Xscream carvers 3yr ago in Boro.........had 2 seasons on them and they are a great challenge 
.......being 180cm I have toned it down to another pair of Heads @170cm (carvers).....bought them in Sofia and had a good season on them just been.
Also bought a pair of Salomon boots 3yr ago in Boro and have not had any problems with them at all.
Also bought all my ski wear in Boro 3yr ago and have had really good use out of them (Spider Jacket and ski pants).
And ...

If I recall, the Head skis cost me 350.00 BGN.
They are discounted now on the internet for approx. 250.00 BGN.......thats on a US website.

I work with the Euro so buying goods from the USA at the moment is feasable. Not so good if you work with the £.

Bought skis/boots/bindings/poles/ski bag/trousers/ski jacket in borovets 8 years ago for under £200 the lot. I know the prices are not relevant now but as to the quality have been skiing in them twice a year since then and they are still OK. Will need new jacket and trousers this year as getting tight due to expanding waist line but skis etc still OK.dbut

Andy you mean The Fake Spyder clothing.Another few months max before the gap is closed and as with Rossignol, Besson and the rest before they start personally visiting the shops and start confiscating the gear and issuing penalties to the breaches of trading standarts
so be quick Bargain Hunters and buy the fake clothing gear while still available.Wont last long

My Spyder jacket has done me proud .....whether fake or not!.........it keeps me protected from the elements....and I think 
thats what its all about???......
All the lining is still intack, all the zips work properly and after the season it gets a dryclean and looks brand new again
Not bad for 120.00 bgn.
As for confiscating fake clothing and penalising companies for selling it........thats there business and I don't really give a toss.

It happens all around the world and is not soley isolated to just Bulgaria.

Mikey being an expert on 'his' country will of course be aware that one of Bulgarias largest export markets is clothing, and amongst other things made in Bulgaria are ......Spyder and Killy skiwear, now im not saying all you see is fake or genuine, but as here in his adopted country 
stuff fals of the back of lorries!! Same with an awful lot of 'Fake' stuff from China, its produced so chaeply its not worth 'faking' it, they just have larger production runs than they admit to the ...

as an expert on his adopted BG just for his information a little CORRECTION ON HERE clothing for Spyder and Killy has never been made legally in BG(not a single stitch) and the 2 companies are coming down on the illegal fake imports like the other big players-so again if you want BARGAINS be quick!
