Hi, is there anyone out in Borovets now or has just come back that can give us all an accurate update on the snow cover and temperatures for the resort?
It's looking good on the webcam with some snow coming down and tiny bit more forecast but some of the days do look like go into the plus + temps which isn't good
We're going out Feb 23rd and are hoping it stays as it is now or gets better with no warm temps that are goign to melt it...
Are they still using the snow ...

Just got back........gondola didnt open this morning due to an electrical cable problem.........possibly caused by the heavy winds yesterday.They had the snow cannons going all day today on the lower runs.....Martinovi Baraki runs.
Snow is exceptional.

Thanks Fiona - so its ten times better then last year?Do the snow cannons actually do much on the lower runs?
The snow up top should be good to about March or April shouldnt it?
Was the resort / slopes busy?

I'll throw a picture that I took today with the snow cannon going......looks like most of the newly made snow was landing on the neighbouring trees!!!.Ten times better???.....Borovets actually feared quite well last season. Skiing into May last season so this yr should be similar.
I'll also post a picture showing the amount of punters on the lower slopes.....

gondola didnt open till 10.15am this morning, as they were getting the bashers out, but even then the markdjuk button lifts were not operating due to the amount of fresh snow on the slopes, this means that tomorrow....loads of powder to play in, so hopefully we will catch the first gondola up!!Thursday we are taking a piste basher as far up Mussala as it will go, so will post a report on the conditions over there later
