Poor soul.....mate i could bleed my heart out but it'd get me nowhere!
No i havent got a helmet....i try and stay on my feet and fend off potential collisions with my poles.....a knock to the head wouldnt be a bad thing! theres nothing to damage!aha....
I never wore a helmet (unless racing) many years ago- wouldnt ski without one now after seeing so many accidents, most nothing to do with ones own fault!- seriously consider mate!
Im going to see how busy the resort is first....and probably buy one out there!
I read the thread about the helmets....and i was umming and arring....I know that its not always your own fault....it will probably be me that may cause one
I have a 'need for speed' as they say!
I skied in italy fine without one, but it was relatively quiet. Its something iv considered but thought about buying one out there dependant upon how busy the runs are.
My son would be dead if he hadnt one on a couple of year ago on the nursery slope up top of Gondola- he was standing still and a French woman (begginer) skied straight into him at speed and he banged his head so hard -without a helmet- no chance
I was "showing off" as the kids put it- skiing at pace down Yastrabets and pulled a quick parallell stop at the group- unfortunatley it was sheet ice and i went head over tail and cracked my head badly on the ground- being the man i got up and said ...

Even Arron (experienced border of this site) who usually weas a hat- didnt one day last year and had an accident- could have killed him!
Saftey first now for me!
Maybe looks like I will be getting one first morning out there then!! quite frankly not got time to go out to get one now
Id never show off....i dont do jumps/tricks etc!! but i do like speed, but its the same as driving.....treat everybody else on the road as an idiot!lol.
Off topic, but what type of plug sockets do they use in Bulgaria? Standard European 2 pin plugs like they use in Greece, Spain, France etc?
Just read your comments about the Helmets etc.....Going to browse for one tonight, just didnt really want to buy offline for a couple of reasons.
Cant try it on....cant ensure it is going to be here before we depart, not with the snow that some of our country is experiencing! Plays havoc with Royal Mail!
Looking at the webcam showing the water reservoir for the snow cannons, it does seem to be pretty 'low'. Not sure how many more running hours they have before they are on more restrictive mains water. To be honest i am not even sure if all the cannons can be mains water fed, unless the reservoir was topped up from the main.
