Hi,I'm not out there but you will be able to ski whatever,if you look at the webcams the snow cannons have been very busy, somebody out there would have to confirm but I expect yastrebets runs are open and also some of the Rila runs ,plus the Rila nursery slopes,so think it will be okay, top of mountain(marduki) looks shut and also mousala pathway and I don't think there will be anything off piste, again somebody out there would have to confirm as I'm only guessing by past seasons, you'll have a ...

Unfortunately, conditions are not great for skiing. 2 Yastrabtes runs are open and the 2 reds on the Rila side plus the beginner slopes. This makes them busy with some people using runs that should not be on them at all. I tried both ski areas today and stopped as it was just too dangerous with complete novices using red runs. I know it's not the best news but it is an honest report from today.
Ponty Paul is out there at the moment conditions are not good although as Rigs says (Hiya Rigs) the snow cannons are working well on designated slopes.
Think Manc Tom and the Invasion Crew better start the famous "Snow Dance"
I remember having a conversation with a ski instructor in Borovets back in March and he said when weather is bad in the UK it is usually good in Bulgaria and vice-versa. This may ring true as when I was there at the beginning of March is was balmy when it was a lot colder back in the UK.
Let's just wish for the weather to improve here (UK) and hope the weather systems move more over europe
(Ps - going out personally on the 8th Feb 2014)
Hi all ,must admit the conditions don't look great but be reassured you will defiantly ski ( albeit limited) . I was wondering whats happened to Mark IOW I remember last year he posted some very accurate weather forecasts , all the best and stay positive , Cliff
Cliff, Mark IOW has posted, not great news for the next few days though. I have looked on Metcheck, Net Weather plus a couple of obscure forecasts and it looks as if early/mid Jan is going to see snow, although the temps are below zero which is good for the cannons.
where has Mark IOW posted ? i havent seen anything from him on here , think like most people he's keeping his powder dry so to speak until theres some good news .
