I've just returned from a weeks great skiing in Borovets but nearly had it ruined by the dodgey chambermaids in the Hotel Samakov. I had a room with my wife and son and over the duration of our stay the chambermaids were secretly taking items of our clothing and hidding them under our beds and mattresses and in the wardrobes under spare blankets. We thought we had packed all our stuff and only by chance I noticed a sock hanging out of the mattress. Once I lifted it up I saw the stash of clothing, that was when we took the room apart and found the rest of our stuff. this looks like a scam used by the chambermaids so be weary before you leave and check everywhere, do you know every item that you take on holiday with you? we certainly did not. Apart from that it was a fantastic holiday and I would recommend Borovets to anyone looking for a winter break. A big thank you to Nik from Boro Sport based opposite the Rila for a weeks expert skiing, without you Nik my wife would never have achieved what she did and we would not have had such a fantastic time on and off the slopes.
