Dean....
My wife had lessons last year and they started at 10am. That is why we got the gondola at 9.30. I think ( but not 100% sure) that most lessons start at 10.00. So that means that 9.15-30 is the busiest time for getting on the gondola. But we have never had a problem becuase we avoid the busy weeks.
One morning we got to the top gondola for 9.15, so she practised on the nursery slope until her lesson started.

Cheers

Skimad, you didn't say when you went. If it was towards the end of the season Pamporovo closed its doors early through lack of snow as did Borovets, Bansko and many of the resorts in the rest of Europe.

As for saying Pamps has had its day etc etc it is negative comments like this that can make or break a resort. Fortunately this is the case for Pamporovo. Now that Ryanair are flying into Plovdiv (to possibly be followed by a couple of other UK to BG airlines) and with a transfer of 1.5 ...

Now that Ryanair are flying into Plovdiv (to possibly be followed by a couple of other UK to BG airlines) and with a transfer of 1.5 hours it is as attractive an option as Borovets particularly for families and beginners.

BTW last season we had back-to-back bookings from Xmas to end March/beg April - maybe we were just lucky eh!.

Hi Andie,
I went from the 26th Feb to 5th of March and had never seen it so quiet, I stayed in the Mourgavets this time though have previously stayed in Perelik and others, walking through Perelik complex was just a maze of empty rooms where resteraunts & bars etc used to be.
We ate in the White Hart a couple of nights and once it was completly empty apart from the barcrawl group and the second time there were 4 people downstairs and another table for 8 upstairs. It used to be nearly ...

It used to be nearly immposible to get a table. I wouldn't have thought this was to late in the season as when i've been snow has been better later, but maybe you can tell me different. Snow Snow

Hi Skimad,

I stand corrected as 3rd March was a Bulgarian holiday and there should have been lots up of people in Pamporovo that weekend. Confused. If I remember correctly we did have a couple of good dumps later in March but the winter wasn't as hard as predicted as all the locals ordered extra wood. Confused I think there was moresnow in the UK lol

Guess it's the luck of the draw - hopefully this ski season will be good. Anyway, have fun wherever you go and happy skiing Snowfall

Just to correct you Snow Plough if I may.

You do not necessarily need to catch a shuttle bus in Pamporovo as there are now several hotels adorning the slopes. The Markony (where we stay) is right in the Malina 2 area and I can be on the slopes within 2 minutes of getting up Surprised (I never am though!)

Sorry Pete.

Got to be 11 yrs since out in Pamps, staying at the Perelik Hotel. (Shuttled from here and it seemed like everyone else did the same. )
Where are you and the other half heading for this winter?
And as for 2 minutes getting up lets not get into your personal details Love
Roll on winter.

Rich.

re: Borovets or Bansko or Pamporovo...

Dean - I vote Boro, we will be there from 24th Feb for our 8th visit in 5 seasons and there is still plenty there to keep us returning, although Bristol is our local airport we have booked BA flights from Heathrow and will be booking accomodation via the web making a saving of about £200 on a package price for 2.
Hope to see you in Boro in Feb
