We fly out tomoz, the forecast on some sites say snow on the 27th & 28th anything from 4cm - 24cm depending on what site you use! What are the views from people in thr know over there and the likely hood of getting the cannons going?
Well today, everything was closed except a couple of drag lifts in front of the Rila. Either too much wind or no snow... You can image the queues. Waste of time unless you are an utter beginner.
Carl,
Dont despair, its fair to say that it looks bad at the moment, but the forecast is for colder weather and some snow sunday, see snowforecast.com, also the colder weather means that they should be able to use the snow cannons, just have a few relaxing days, then hopefully there will be better skiing.
ok thanks for your help i just looked at the report and it said it is suppose to snow saturday sunday and tuesday so hopefully it will. alos are any slopes open at the moment thanks carl
i have been going to Borovets two years running at Christmas. 2008, plenty of snow.2009, great snow to start with, but last snow fall on 20th Dec, so by 24 it became very bad to ski and all runs were very icy, rocky and mucky. Lower slopes by Rila turned very icy and slushy. Gondolla closed due to heavy winds.Any latest news on snow for skiers 27th onwards?
