Hi

I have booked a holiday 2 Borovets on the 17th of Jan, stopping in the Rila Hotel with my wife. We have never been skiing before but can't wait. If any one has any advice it would be most appreciated.

Whats the weather like on the 17th Jan??
Looking forward to the night life, we like a boogie. any decent spots???

Cheers

re: Borovets

I have no idea.

Not bothered either.

Wouldn't mind some brazillian babes going but doubt that very much.

re: Borovets

Hi Al,

This year I'm traveling by myself, booked with Inghams, flight at 13.45.
Yes its great in borovets, i fell in love with the country on my first visit.

Jan tends to be one of the colder months but its not like the cold over here, dont worry you wont freeze out there.

Money: take sterling £20 , 10, 5 notes - make sure they are new,not torn or any writing on them or you wont be able to change them. I take a credit card for emergency only as they add about 5% to the bill if you ...

Thanks again

re: Borovets

Hi Alan

Just a few more points to add, been going to BG for 14 years, both Borovets and Pamporovo. Stayed at the Rila last year and was fine, ski depot and lifts on your doorstep. Ski instructor are great and there are snow cannons to guarantee cover on lower slopes. Night skiing right outside Rila also available. Bars and night life in abundance, all within 400m. Also cheap ski gear, trainers, CD's, fags, booze. Great steak houses, pizza bars, Karaoke bars, happy hours etc, beautiful ...

You can also use your credit card to draw cash from ATM's, there are 2 in Boro, one by the Gondola and one by Peter's Bar, I found using my credit card more beneficial as rate worked out better, keep sterling as well for back up.

You'll love it Booze

re: Borovets

Hi Alan,
the Rila Hotel is very good, clean & and 10 seconds from the slopes.
its had a lot of money spent on it over the last couple of years, the outdoor swimming pool is now heated and INSIDE .
There is a new shopping arcade joining onto the hotel and all the bars & eating places are all within a 3 minute walk.

The instructors are very good and all speak good english.

It is alway wise to let the wife think she is better than you, so dont go beating her on the ski test at the end ...

It is alway wise to let the wife think she is better than you, so dont go beating her on the ski test at the end of the week, you will get the micky taken out of you for a whole year but she will be wanting you to book again for next year as soon as you get back.

Be prepared for your best holiday Ever!

Paul
