Borovets

Hi All

I am off to Borovets on the 7th Feb, and i can't wait!!
I have never been skiing before, i will be attending ski school for beginners.
Can anyone tell me what ski school is like?

Friends of mine have been to Borovets for the last couple of years, and they really rate the place!! Drinks are cheap - lovely!! I shall be sampling a few of those!!

Cheers on my arse!!

I did the beginners lesson last year and they were brilliant fun!! (Although I still can't ski!)

I met some fantastic people in my ski group last year - and we're all going away together tommorow!! Getting really excited now!!

I have been to Borovets twice before. It's a great place with an excellent ski school, and slopes for beginners & intermediates. Very cheap nights out with good restaurants & bars. People very friendly and most speak English. Menus also in English!!

Can highly recommend the Titanic bar opposite Rila Hotel for cocktails. Try the hot chocolate with Baileys after a hard days skiing!! Hot soup is a good option for lunch costing around 60p - £1.50 depending on how far up the mountain the ...

Do not expect 5 star catering in hotels. Most food is plain, plentiful but quite edible. It does have a habit of not being too hot though. Rooms are adequate and spotlessly clean in both Samokov & Rila where I have stayed.

Am off for my 2nd visit of the year on 6th March - that's how much I enjoy the resort!!

There are 2 cash point machines in the resort despite what you see advertised. The cost on my account for using them when I returned were quite small. YOu do get a better exchange rate in Bulgaria than in UK. 2 weeks ago we got 2.7 Levs to the Pound in the resort.

Hope the info is helpful. Enjoy your holiday.

Karen, cheers for the advice.
Hot chocolate with baileys, sounds good to me!!

Funny you should say about the money changing facilities. I have been told that you can not take levs out with you - is that true?
