Most places have big parties on New Year's eve. Last year, we spent it in Titanic and will again this year. Loads of free shots and some free nibbles. But, most bars / restaurants will do the same, so wherever you are, I am sure it will be great. Franco's, mamacita', Green King etc will all be busy and lively. If there is a big group and you want to eat as well, you either need to go pretty early - 7ish or book or there will be no way you can get a table. There will also be lots of firework ...

And meant to say, yes I agree with Jocrad, Hunters is great as well. More of a restaurant than a bar atmosphere but it's non-smoking and the food is brilliant.

We are flying from Manchester on boxing day, myself, hubby and 12 year old son. I am not skiing this year due to illness and putting on loads of weight etc, i am just not fit enough. We are staying at the samokov but i have heard awful things about it so not sure what to expect now, we have been before and stayed at the Rila. I have asked on another board but had no reply - If i decide when i am there to ski on the odd day can i just hire the gear daily or is this not possible, and does ...

im heading out from manchester saturday staying in the hotel ELA????? lol really looking forward to it now, ive heard their will b plenty of snow im more worried about getting out of the uk to be honest, oh Lyn im overweight too but im gonna ski anyway there isnt much energy used when u ski on ure ass (went to manchester ski factory other day skiid about ten metres on my face, ul recognise im the one missing half my face)
There is a group of 22 of us flying out on 27th staying at the Rila.
We have also heard there is not much snow, cant drink for the whole week solid.
