Also, how cheap are the meals there? (just wondering how much money to take for a week??
Does anyone know of any other activities there are to do other than ski, board or skidoos?

tis wil be y 3rd time to borovets, we love it. A really nice place for food is the horn and crown wich is on the nursery slopes, they cater for veggies, they will cook anything for you. Also if u dont want to ski you can go 10pin bowling, swmming, sofia trip, skiidooing, horse riding, theres plety to do, ive got 11sleeps left and CANT WAIT !!!
Most places are good for food in Borovets. Titanic is one favourite of ours and the mexican is very good - (Mamacitas). although it is quite expensive compared to most of the other restaurants - You will need to book here, it gets v busy.
Or if you fancy something different get a taxi into Samakov, there is a beautiful Bulgarian restaurant there - I don't know the name, but it translates as something like 'house of......' Any ski instructor will be able to tell you. It is fantastic ...

Or if you fancy something different get a taxi into Samakov, there is a beautiful Bulgarian restaurant there - I don't know the name, but it translates as something like 'house of......' Any ski instructor will be able to tell you. It is fantastic there, far cheaper than anywhere in Borovets and excellent food.
Стара къща (Stara kushta translates to old house) is the name of the Bulgarian restaurant in Samokov. Also, try Kokoshkova kushta, absolutely fabulous restaurant and much cheaper than Borovets.
The Old House is great but you do need to book. Kokushkova kushta - brilliant, more like a 5 star restaurant but very reasonable. And also Bonitas, a great pizza joint and very cheap. There is loads in Samokov to choose from and only 20 lev for taxi back, if you fancy a drink!
Thanks for posting this Chantelle, i'm a veggie too. When I went to Bansko a few years ago, i survived mainly pizza when eating out. Lets hope Borovets can offer more for veggies. I'm also out on 6th Feb, might see you there.
If you fancy a night out of Borovets, why not come up to Eagle Rock Cafe and Restaurant in Beli Iskar, we are about 15 mins from Borovets, 5 mins from Samokov. We are an English run Restaurant, great food and much cheaper than Borovets... get in touch for more information!
Either way enjoy your holiday!
