Bristol Airport Closed

Bristol Airport is currently closed to all inbound and outbound flights, and a further update will be announced at 10.30am today (Friday)

It is too early to know if this will effect the two flights due out to Sofia tomorrow but further heavy snow is expected in the area today.

It seems ironic that the very reason why people are going could ultimately be the very reason why they can't.

More news after 10.30am.

Exactly what i was thinking Pete..

I am supposed to be flying out from Bristol to Sofia tomorrow...as much as i'm looking forward to skiing, i didn't intend on skiing to the aiport too!!

Fingers crossed it will all be sorted tomorrow....maybe i should cross toes as well! Confused

The lastest update is that all flights are now suspended until 12.30pm today when the situation will be re-assessed.

14 flights have been cancelled so far and 17 inbound flights diverted.

None of these flights are to or from Bulgaria.

Lets hope so buddy.
I'm due to set off for Bath in about an hour - although the earlier reports were that the roads around Chippenham were under a foot of snow Confused

Its lovely to have the snow here but I think the snow dance to get snow in pamporovo has backfired on us perhaps some confusion as to where we wanted the snow but hey no work this week and loadsa sledging!

Hopefully the snow will be there by half term Neutral

How ironic my hubby has been working up north in Bridlington and has had no snow he normally always sends pic to us of the snow and we are normally really gutted. Just hope he can get home alright tonight!! Confused
