Here we go.
"Sorry sir we have cancelled your flight....
You can fly the next day and miss a days skiing...."
Buggers. They had already delayed the flight by some 10 hours a month or so back. Now they will loose 20 bookings as we have a big party and another airline looks to still be flying on the Sat.
But I have arranged transport at both end, I have people coming from all over the country. All needs redoing.
is this a problem with bulgaria only? I mean, balkan holidays love messing people around, it sounds like others have ahd a nightmare with transfers, and now cancellations. Is this something that happens with all ski holidays...cos i'd liKE to avoid THE HASSLE in the future!
Tony, where are you flying from? We are going from Heathrow on the Saturday and have had no word of any flight changes - I can only guess that some of the flights are not fully booked and they are transferring people on to the one.....we have never had any probs with Bulgaria or Wizz and have flown loads of times with both - sure everything will be fine (no fog please that weekend!) Everything will be fine - she says...........

Despite all of this I had a great holiday! back next year? probably!
R2,
Well I got to the bottom of the story.
The flight going from LHR to Sofia on the 9th Feb at 6pm was actually operated by a very small company and Bulkarian airlines were code sharing.
Bulkarian airlines have now bought this small company and they transferred the bookings over. However the systems were not compatible and so some bookings (ours included) did not get transfered. My cousins though was and so she can still fly on the original time.
Folkes...I am travelling out with Tony (auther of said message) A million thanks for sorting the problem out.mate!! ..we are now going a day earlier but for those travelling on Sat 9th..from Heathrow (LHR) may I (we) suggest that you contact the airline through your travel company. We used Flightline in Essex who have been most helpful (with some prompting!!). There are conflicting reports as to why the flights have been changed. We used Flightline in Essex who have been most helpful (with some prompting!!). There are conflicting reports as to why the flights have been changed. My good lady phoned flightline to be told they had technical problems with the plane. Tony was advised that the original company had been sold and there was then some sort of transfer of flight seats and perhaps too many for the old decoter that they use!! need a beer.now.to calm the nerves......it all sounds too familiar and there are a few grumblings from others, I note that have had the similar problems. Anyhow we as a group are now sorted and looking forward to an extra day on the slopes. For those going...perhaps we can say hello at the Happy End... We are the large group or to the untrained eye...Tony will be in his 70's shell suit skiing outfit... see you there... let us know how you get on wiuth rearranging flights...Happy all my life...Snowman
I think we had this back in September!
Sat morn flight cancelled, either go later that day from Gatwick (12 hours) or go night before but still from Heathrow.
We were advised it was because of the amalgamation of Hemus and Bulgaria Air.
We have gone for the Friday night (extra day skiing!).
Mind you still a little concerned as there is some confusion with the tickets (booked ourselves through Opodo).
