personally i would be somewhat annoyed, but upon finding the 50p i think this would help me get over being annoyed very quickly. 50p can pretty much buy you a beer there, so happy days!

This will be my thrid time to Banski. just go with an open mind. the customs are a little strange, some locals may come across a little rude, but it's normally becuase of their poor English. The town itself is nice and once you are on the slopes it will be a distant memory. If there is a big dump of snow before you go it will improve the town 1000% anyway.

As someone else has said if you are in a hotel try some of the local resturants. Even if you are H/B they are so cheap and the ...

re: Bulgaria First Timers?

oh, did i mention how cheap the beer is.... THE BEER IS CHEAP

You'll have a great time.

It's not St. Moritz and neither are the prices but the skiing is great. Tuition is good & time it right and you wont see too many queues. Take it for what it is & you'll be back.

re: Bulgaria First Timers?

Stan,

You're lucky. You are probably going expecting the worst. In so many ways that is the best attitude to have. Just think how you'd feel if you woke up one morning expecting there to be poo on your doorstep but when you checked you found 50p there instead. Keep expecting poo and you'll be pleasantly suprised.

If it helps, I've been to Bansko twice and am going for a third time next month and have all but booked for next year already.

By the way which hotel you in?
