Are there any first timers going to any of the resorts in Bulgaria (me - Bansko) that after having booked for one reason or another (price etc) find that reading reports on the resorts here and elsewhere a little disconcerting?
Is Bansko so much of a building site that you have to wear a hard hat and wellies everywhere you go?
I am hoping to find a quaint old town (as described in the Bansko promo DVD) that existed as though time had just passed it by?

After reading some reports I think I will be expecting to have to 'put on a brave face' and just 'make the most of it'.
There is still a little bit of an old town to wander round, but lets be honest, you're there for the skiing.
If you believe a promo DVD, well, what can I say....?
been to bansko for the last two years and yes, there was more building work the second time but still some old town if you want it, and I'm going back this year so can't be all that bad!! i loved the skiing there and am bringing a first timer with me this time. i reckon bansko just had a bad week a while back, you'll be grand i'm sure!

Oh! if you have any food left over, please ask for a doggy bag (they are used to people asking), and feed some of the many stray dog's that will no doubt break your heart if you are an animal lover like me (look out for the all black one with the saddest eyes ever).
hi, don't know me but me and a few mates are looking at booking up for next year and are giving bulgaria a thought. Any advice on where to find good honest resort information and where the best apres ski resort can be found?
