Cancel Skiing for Dec 30th?

All,

Do you think I should consider cancelling my planned skiing holday as a result of the lack of the white stuff?

If there is a lack of the white stuff, is there much to do in Borovets ... or is this the only time in history (within the skiing season) and more importantly when I've booked ... that there is now snow? Just my luck Sad

What is it with the Brits, always looking on the downside.....right dont know where you are going, we are going on the 16th dec for two weeks and expect to be skiing. Borovets currently has a good snow level from the middle station up, any additional snow will obviously improve this.
Failing that i shall be bussing it to a nearby resort for some skiing,........ehough with the negative vibes moriarity..

is artifical snow good enough in Bansko?

same here.....we shall arriving in Bansko on the 28th December...fingers crossed and hopes alive, we'll be having the greatest time in our life Smile BUT, if worse comes to worst, how good are the snow cannons in Bansko? does the artificial snow cover enough ground to make it an enjoyable skiing week just the same?
sorry to think of the most negative aspects, but you know, one just needs to know Smile

Fraser is so right.

Long term weather forecasts are very hit and miss as we know in the UK all to well.

Whilst the snow is a little later this year, it is still far too early to start getting all het up about what might happen in 3 weeks time.

And it's impossible for anybody on here to advize correctly as to the next 3 weeks outcome on snowfall.

2 days solid snowfall and all will be open, that could happen at anytime over the next three weeks, and it has been a long long time ...

To cancel now would probably mean losing most if not all you're holiday costs anyway, so sit back and put your trust in the snow-gods.

That's what I'm doing - and they've never let me down yet Confused

Cannot mention the cancel word

The word cancel should never be used in conjunction with ski holiday, its just not allowed.

As Pete says, sit tight. I remember my first time skiing and having the same worries.............since then learnt to realise that the snow will be there. Once your there and on the top of the mountain looking down, you'll have a laugh to yourself about the unnecessary worrying. Very Happy

re: Cancel Skiing for Dec 30th?

At least they have the sense in Bulgaria not to start the ski season until late December - look at the pictures from most of the western european resorts - they've tried to be greedy and start the season really early and they've no snow - it's too warm even for the snow cannons

Have faith, i was in Boro today and from the mid staton up has a good base. Bansko on the top station is fine also, i was there on Friday.

I remember 1999/200, the season started with a green programme, one guest was convinced it was the reps fault there was no snow.
What did the rep say....nothing, but a very thorough search was arranged at Plovdiv Airport!!!! Wink
