Christo Angelov contact

I'm a total beginner going to Borovets from 5 - 12 Jan and think that private lessons maybe better for me than a group. I've heard that Christo is great but wondered does anyone know if I'd need to contact him in advance to arrange lessons or wait til I get there? Also does anyone know his fees? And finally(honest!) would I need to get skis etc and lift pass from somewhere else or does he provide?

Thanks Smile

good idea to contact christo on facebook ,dont know how much he is charging this year.but you can just go in to his bar as soon as your settled.his daughter laura is also a top instructor.he does skis but not lift passes.they are best ordered in advance online.we ordered ours last year from bulgaria hotels.com but their are others.it came up as a topic earlier this week so you could check what others do. steve.g

Lisa.
Well judging by your info you have not booked a package ski holiday as a bigginer I think you should have as the package provides everything boots, skis, lift pass and approx 4 hrs per day instruction.
If you are on F.B. serch for his name there, he does supply skis, don't think he does lift passes. Fee wise used to be £10/hour (I think) Christo and his Daughter Laura are first class insturctors, but I still think if it is at all possible try and get a ski package from your ...

Hope this helps.

i think christo was charging 50 lev for 2 hours last year and i agree with snow plough .i found skiing with the school good fun until the're all better than you.i didnt do private lessons till my forth trip and christo spent most of the time correcting my bad habits [skiing wise].if he tried correcting all my bad habits we'd still be out their now! steve.g

Thanks for the info Smile I'm on a package hol with Crystal/Thomson but have done it last minute and because I didn't know what I was wanting to do on the hol at time of booking, I didn't book a ski package with them. Also it seems that most ski schools are for 4 hours a day - are there any that do 2 hours does anyone know?

2 hour ski school, google hunters ski school borovets. There are others in the resort.
You can always inquire with your tour rep when you travel to the resort from the airport as they will be able to help you.

What was the Crystal package like for lessons when you went with them? They've just offered me a good package price but still not convinced!

re: Christo Angelov contact

it depends which hotel you are staying at to which ski school you are put with but we have always had good experiences but the big plus is that the price you pay for the package you won't be able to get a 6 day lift pass and boots, skis & poles for the same price.
Myself I would take the package and ski with the group then you can please yourself weather you ski for 2 or 4hrs a day and if you feel you need 1 to 1 tuition then find some but the good thing is you will already have your lift ...
