Coal has been located beneath the slopes of Pamporovo and the government has decided to close all slopes as of Monday to commence excavation.
A spokesman for The Bulgarian Coal Industry stated today, "we know this will upset some tourists, but the discovery is a major boost to our economy and we cannot miss the opportunity to boost our economy and further our nations wealth"
The Wall has been re-named The Coal Face, and it is expected that the bulldozers will move in tomorrow to clear away all snow that may hamper the workers.
With the discovery of coal, there is further speculation that oil may also be located beneath the slopes, and the lift system is to be converted into Nodding Donkeys in an attempt to maximize the potential.
Skiers and boarders are being compensated by offers of a week-long guided tour of temples and churches within the area, and brass rubbings are being offered as a special day out treat. (At additional cost.)
Vasko Dubrev, who is in charge of all operation in Pamporovo stated today, " we were unaware of the developments until we received an e-mail from our friend PP who we all know too well, and trust implicitally, so we had little option than to close the slopes".
