re: Converted

Packages aren't really that much cheaper these days but You'd be hard pushed to get as much for your money on a night out in Flaine. Try £5 a pint compared to 75p.

Still you go a great deal by the sounds of it.

re: Converted

would never go to france self catering soup on the slopes is about £5 for a bowl and a beer, wont get much change out of £10 so you could easy be looking at £40 for lunch and dont want to think what dinner (tea depending on where your from) will cost you. hope you have plenty of spends.

Graham,
Cant wait until I get there. I have given Bulgaria a chance but for me bulgaria doesnt get near the alps pound for pound.
Daniel, no it doesnt. £115 for the week, ski pass. Bearing in mind that is for 225km of pistes Wink higher altitude, 133 lifts, 218 snow cannons, 3 snow parks. Oh and also 1 hour from Geneva. In summary more for your money by far.
I have my own kit so that wont cost me a penny. The rental gear in Bulgaria is getting better, but on the whole it is appalling and ...

As for beer and food, yes there is always a downside but thats life. I think you will struggle to find beer in bulgaria for 75p a pint this year. I couldnt find it last year. Razz

Anyway lads, its good to chat and swap opinions and hope you have good ski hols wherever you go! Cool

People are more important than places.

Substitute Bulgarian people for French?

Not in a million years.

re: Converted

Good on you for giving BG a go freeskier. I know a lot of people who critisise bulgarian skiing without having been there so credit to you for giving it a go.
I'm also going self catering in france this year but hope to get a week in Bansko mid march also.
Food in france can be cheap if you go self catering and buy food in the supermarkets and cook yourself if thats what you're into.
If you want to go out for beers and more beers, BG is hard to beet for the price.
