Tough luck Dan! For what it's worth, you will get compensated, it's just when. The same thing happened to my uncle years ago, private hire car, taken out by an idiot. It took years for the insurance company to pay up, but when they did it was a biggy. Probably not what you want to hear right now. Make sure that every penny you are losing, and every inconvenience to yourself are recorded. It might also be an idea to get on to his insurers, tell them your circumstances, and point out it's in their interest to resolve this quickly.

Sorry to hear of your bump. The same thisn happened to me on a roundabout in Milton Keyenes whilst going on holiday with both the children - aged 1 & 3.

As Banknote said make sure you keep a diary of everything that you can and can't do, how many painkillers you need to take etc.

I actually have a permanent neck injury as a result of my accident and after 51/2 years eventually got compensation - it meant the inconvenience of going to court a couple of times but it was worth the hassle. The otherside will go out of their way to get out o paying. i was a self employed childminder at the time but carried on working which wasn't necessarily in my favour as they tried to use that against me. However my solicitor/barrister argued that as I had 2 small children it wasn't unreasonable to be able to continue working.

Make sure Louise looks after you too. I haven't ironed properly since July 1998!
